A Visit to the NSW Lancers Museum Parramatta and Family Light Horse Memories

During the NSW National Trust Heritage Festival in April 2014, I had the opportunity to visit the NSW Lancers Museum in Parramatta. The displays and tour were excellent, which I found fascinating, especially as I had three great great great uncles who were in the Northern Rivers Lancers in the 1880’s. Plus in the 5th and 7th Light Horse during WW1, there were relatives from my family, on both my mother’s Hicks side and my father’s Barden side. And there was a NSW Lancer in the Boer War on my mother’s Avard side.

We’ll be back to have another look at the NSW Lancers Museum and to look for references to records of James, Thomas and Charles Hicks in the 1880’s.
